In 2006 Clarance began competing in the multi-sport arena (duathlon, triathlon and adventure racing) and has been very successful. In this short time he has developed into the nation’s top multi-sport athlete, winning all major events and is currently Trinidad and Tobago’s National Triathlon Champion (Olympic distance - 1500m swim, 40k bike & 10k run).
In the last four (4) years he has had the privilege of competing alongside our best local athletes as well as the likes of Richard Usher, current World Multi-Sport Champion; Martin Dreyer, South Africa’s multi-sport number one; Martin Flinta, Sweden’s number one; and many others. He was even selected to represent Trinidad & Tobago at the Speight’s World Multi-Sport Championship in February 2008 in South Island, New Zealand. The key to Clarance’s success lies in his lifestyle choices and the fact that he is focussed, disciplined and passionate about multi-sport. The fact that he has been selected by the National Triathlon Association as its nominee for the National Sportsman of the Year Award 2009 attests to this.
